What’s This Blog About?

This blog is for church workers (paid or unpaid) who want to catch up with technology quickly, cheaply and painlessly.  Odds are you’re short on time, short on money, and would lose half the congregation with a massive technology upgrade anyway.  I’ll cover tips to save time, new tricks for your old website, some cheap pieces of hardware that can go a long way, and more.  I’ll try to point you to other good sources and give you the occasional bit of research data, too.

More than that though, I want to answer your questions.  If you’ve got any, comment here or on a post, or you can e-mail me at jhenson@zero-men.com.  No question is too small!  This blog is mainly for the novices who are just getting their feet wet in technology.  Ask about things you’ve seen, words you don’t understand, or stuff that isn’t working right.

About Me

I’m a secretary at Parkway Presbyterian Church, a 200-ish member mainline Protestant church, and I love technology.  Unfortunately, around here I’m usually the only one!  A big part of my job has been learning new technologies on my own and helping the church implement them.  My primary interest is creating new doors where outsiders can enter our church, especially on the web.  While I’m at it, I try to help my fellow staffers navigate all the new tricks changing technology can do without totally confusing them.
